Bembridge Gig Fest
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th June 2021
For Gigs, Galleys and all types of traditional rowing boats - organised by Bembridge Harbour Authority and the Yarmouth Gig Rowing Club
This is a perfect excuse for traditional fixed seat rowing boats to head to Bembridge Harbour. There'll be a mixture of "Barbarian" style fun racing, and (slightly more serious) club races, run by Brading Haven Yacht Club, and on Saturday evening, there'll be food and live music on offer at the Duver Marina (St Helens).
Further details will be posted here soon, but for more information, or to be included on the event database for updates via email, please contact Fiona Thorpe: email@example.com Click here for an event poster.
If you represent a club, please register your interest by completing a Club Information Form and sending to Fiona as above.
Here's a video of the 2019 Langstone Regatta for a flavour of this fabulous sport (with kind permission from Sam Brownjohn).
Covid-19 safety measures and restrictions are in place across all Harbour sites. As with all event planning currently, this event is subject to Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.
Alongside pontoon (rafted) berthing is free for rowing boats for the night of 12th June, but all are very welcome to arrive early and stay longer at a discounted rate! Berthing for support vessels will be at our standard tariff (2021 bookings now open) and should be booked online on advance.
Bembridge Harbour Authority General Terms and Conditions apply.
