Bembridge Gig Fest
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th June 2021
For Gigs, Galleys and all types of traditional rowing boats - organised by Bembridge Harbour Authority and the Yarmouth Gig Rowing Club
This is a perfect excuse for traditional fixed seat rowing boats to head to Bembridge Harbour. There'll be a mixture of "Barbarian" style fun racing, and (slightly more serious) club races, run by Brading Haven Yacht Club, and on Saturday evening, there'll be food and live music on offer at the Duver Marina (St Helens).
Further details of all will be posted here soon, but for more information, or to be included on the event database for updates via email, please contact Fiona Thorpe: email@example.com or at the Harbour Office - 01983 872828.
Here's a video of the 2019 Langstone Regatta for a flavour of the event (with kind permission of Sam Brownjohn and Langstone Cutter Gig Club).
As with all event planning currently, this event is subject to any Covid-19 restrictions which are in place at the time.
Alongside pontoon (rafted) berthing is free for rowing boats for the night of 12th June, but all are very welcome to arrive early and stay longer at a discounted rate! Berthing for support vessels will be at our standard tariff (2021bookings will open in January) and should be booked with the Berthing Office in advance (01983 872828 ext 1), either individually or via their associated rowing club.
Bembridge Harbour Authority General Terms and Conditions apply.
