The Harbour is home to two active & vibrant sailing clubs & an angling club
Bembridge Sailing Club can trace its origins back to 1886, with the Bolton & Paul part of the clubhouse built in 1896. The "new" part of the clubhouse was built in 2001-02. Members enjoy packed social and sailing calendars and it is the home of the Bembridge Redwings, the Bembridge One-Designs & the Bembridge Illusion fleet – a scaled down version of the 12m yachts that competed for the America's Cup - which race in the Harbour over the winter.
The Club is affiliated to the RYA and is a Volvo Champion Club. The summer sailing programme begins at Easter and sailing courses are held for Cadets and Junior Cadets.
BSC welcomes visiting yachtsmen from RYA affiliated clubs - catering is available on Friday evenings, Saturday & Sunday lunchtimes throughout the year & daily from mid-July to the end of August. Delicious Rally suppers etc in superb surroundings by arrangement. Phone 01983 872237 or visit www.bembridgesailingclub.org
The Brading Haven Yacht Club is a friendly, family club offering
year-round racing for all classes of sailing dinghy. Affiliated to the RYA it is also a Volvo Champion Club. There are large cruising and power boat sections and club mooring and berthing is available for members. It offers fine food dining and well stocked bar facilities all year round as well as a busy social programme.
New members are always very welcome, as are visiting yachtsmen and rallies from other clubs, for whom they will always find room to moor a tender.
